Private. Files never leave your device.Your pages appear here, in order, before you download. Files never leave your device.

Open a different file?

This closes the current PDF. It stays in your recent files with everything you've done, so you can come back to it from the home page.

Clear all files?

This empties the list of 0 files and the order you put it in. Nothing is removed from your device.

Turn on airplane mode and give it a try. It still works.

How it works

Combine as many files as you like. Nothing is uploaded, so there's nothing to meter, only your device's own memory.

How it works

How to merge PDF files online for free

Combine multiple PDFs into one, right in your browser. No upload, no server. Your files never leave your device.

  1. 1Add your PDFs and photos. Select or drag-and-drop the PDFs, or JPEG and PNG photos, you want to combine.
  2. 2Arrange them. Sort by name or date, drag files into the order you want, or work on the pages themselves: every page of the result is shown below the list, and you can drag one anywhere, rotate it or skip it.
  3. 3Download. Check Add page numbers if you want them, then tap Download. The merged file is built on your device as you go, so it is ready when you are.

Free for everyone

Combine as many PDFs as you like, in any order, with no watermark and no page limits. Because merging runs on your device, there's nothing to upload and no usage to ration.

It's open source under the MIT license, so anyone can read the code, fork it on GitHub, or share it. Simple PDF tools should be free for everyone.

Got questions?

Frequently asked questions

Is PDkef really free?

Yes. PDkef is completely free, with no limits, no signup, and no watermark on your merged PDF.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Nothing is uploaded. The tool runs on your device, in your browser, and your PDF files never leave it. There is no processing server. For offline use, install PDkef and let its required assets load while connected.

Does PDkef work on mobile?

Yes. PDkef works in Chrome on Android and iOS, as well as desktop browsers on macOS and Windows.

Is there a file size or page limit?

No artificial limit is imposed by PDkef. The only constraint is your device's available memory, since merging happens locally.

Can I combine scanned receipts or reports into one PDF?

Yes - this is one of the most common uses. Add each scanned page or report PDF, reorder them, and merge into a single file for an expense report, portfolio, or ebook.

Can I add PDFs from Google Drive, Dropbox or iCloud?

Yes. The simplest way is your device's own file picker, so PDkef never connects to those services. On Android, tap Choose files and pick Google Drive from the list next to Downloads. On iPhone or iPad, open Choose files, then Browse, and your Drive, Dropbox or iCloud Drive appears once its app is installed. On a Mac or Windows PC, the Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive desktop app's folder shows up in the file picker like any other folder. In Google Drive on a computer you can also right-click a PDF, choose Open with, then PDkef, which brings that one file to your device.

What happens to my files if I close the tab partway through?

Nothing is lost. As you add files, reorder them, or rotate and skip pages, the tool auto-saves your file set, page order, rotations, and skips to local storage in your own browser, and restores it automatically the next time you open the tool on the same device. A very large set of files may not fit in your browser's local storage; if that happens the tool tells you the draft could not be saved rather than pretending it was, and merging itself keeps working either way. Saved drafts expire after 28 days without a change. On a shared device, clear site data when finished; that also removes saved drafts and preferences.

Can I merge photos with PDFs?

Yes. Add JPEG or PNG photos beside your PDFs and each photo becomes one page, the size of the photo, in the order you set. It all happens on your device.
