How to organize PDF pages online for free

Put the pages of a PDF in the order you want, right in your browser. You see every page as a thumbnail, so you can sort, drop and turn them by eye. Your file stays on your device.

  1. 1Open your PDF. Click Choose file or drag and drop a PDF into the tool. Every page appears as a thumbnail, in its current order. Nothing is uploaded.
  2. 2Sort the pages. Drag a page to where it belongs, or focus it and press the left or right arrow key to move it one place. Click a page to see its buttons: the eye skips a page you do not want, Rotate turns it 90 degrees at a time, and Open shows it larger. Tick "Add page numbers" if you want them, and use Undo and Redo if you change your mind.
  3. 3Download the new order. Download the organized PDF. The pages come out in exactly the order you see, without the skipped ones. It is built on your device while you work, so it is ready when you are.

Free for everyone

Organize as many PDFs as you like, with no watermark or daily cap. Because everything happens on your device, there's nothing to upload and no usage to ration. If you only need one job done, there are pages for each: Rotate PDF, Remove PDF pages and Add page numbers. They open the same page grid. And to pull a few pages out into their own file, leaving the original untouched, use Extract PDF pages.

It's open source under the MIT license, so anyone can read the code, fork it on GitHub, or share it. Simple PDF tools should be free for everyone.

Got questions?

Frequently asked questions

How do I organize the pages of a PDF?

Open the PDF and every page shows as a thumbnail. Drag pages into the order you want, skip the ones you do not need, and turn any that are sideways. When the grid looks right, download. The pages in the new file follow the grid exactly, and all of your changes are applied together in one pass.

How do I put the pages of a PDF in a different order?

Drag a page to a new position, or focus a page and press the left or right arrow keys to move it one place. On a phone or tablet, touch and hold a page, then drag. The grid updates as you go, and the final order you see is the order of the downloaded PDF.

How do I delete pages while I organize?

Click a page and press its eye button, or select it and press Delete, to skip it. A skipped page stays in place, dimmed, so you can still see it and change your mind, and it is left out of the download. Include all, Skip all and Invert work on the whole document. Your original file is never changed.

How do I turn sideways or upside-down pages upright?

Click the page and press Rotate, or select it and press R. Each press turns that page 90 degrees, and the thumbnail updates straight away so you can check it before you download. Only the pages you rotate change, the rest stay as they were.

Can I add page numbers once the order is right?

Yes. Tick "Add page numbers" before you download. The numbers are printed at the bottom centre of each page and count from 1 in the new order, so skipped pages are not counted.

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. Nothing is uploaded. The tool runs on your device, in your browser, and your file never leaves it. Every step, reordering, skipping, rotating and numbering, happens there. There is no processing server. For offline use, install PDkef and let its required assets load while connected.

Can I organize a password-protected PDF?

A protected PDF shows an Unlock it button instead of the page grid. Unlock removes the protection on your device, and then you can organize the file. You need to know the password yourself, nothing is guessed or recovered for you.

Can I remove every page, or is there a file size limit?

There is no artificial size limit. The only constraint is your device's available memory, since everything runs in the browser. A PDF needs at least one page, so if every page is skipped there is nothing to download until you include one again.
